Job Description
Responsibilities: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) aspires to be the world's premier supplier of integrated air and missile defense and naval and maritime warfighting systems. IDS embraces a system-of-systems approach, which includes designing systems with flexible architectures enabling our customers to optimize battlefield effectiveness. This charter includes conceptual definition, designing, developing, building and deploying defense systems. The Systems Architecture, Design and Integration Center (SADIC) is the central focal point of these activities within IDS. Our customers' satisfaction and confidence in our Systems Engineering capabilities has led to major contract wins this year, including sole-source contracts. SADIC supports numerous programs, encompassing a range of state-of-the-art technologies and processes, including Patriot System Modernization, DD(X) Navy Surface Combatant Ship, Ballistic Missile Defense System, various Radar programs, and Independent Research and Development. Add something for proposals (i.e. referring to expected large program wins as well as mentioning on-going proposal support opportunities) For this position, candidate will act as a point of contact for the analysis of a new communications suite for the world's premiere air defense system. This includes such tasks as interpreting system requirements, generation of test plans & procedures, test conduct, and results analysis. Additionally you may be asked to assist with hardware tradeoffs, equipment/system interface definition, concept generation, customer interaction, and interoperability evaluation.

The ideal candidate will possess
Required Skills:
Experience with US Military high capacity LOS radio communications systems. Experience with terrestrial RF propagation in the VHF through microwave bands, Link Budget Analysis, Message Transfer Probability (MTP)calculations, and Fade Margin calculation. Heavy experience with radio systems and radio networks operating in interference and jamming environments, and the ability to measure, test, analyze and provide a report on those systems.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with U.S. Military & Government radio communications equipment operating in the HF through UHF bands and beyond including such items as SINCGARS, MSE, DAMA SATCOM, EPLRS, NTDR, HCLOS, etc. Familiarity with U.S. Military and commercial packet switches, networking, routers, etc considered a plus. Experience with US Government Cryptographic Gear considered a plus. A Working knowledge of RF and data communications test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Communications Test Sets, etc. The ability to develop system and subsystem performance and test requirements, interface control documents, and to evaluate interfaces between various subsystems. The skills to integrate commercial (COTS) or government supplied equipment into a system or subsystems, and to test, and evaluate that system or subsystem with respect to test documentation. The ability to interact directly with customers. Background in antenna engineering a plus. PHD preferred
