Job Description
Responsibilities: Expected to perform thermal analysis of missile systems and components for proposals, trade studies, preliminary design, detail design, and production phases of programs. The analysis tasks will span the spectrum from classical hand analyses to detailed analyses requiring the use of finite difference and finite element analysis software. The analyst will be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision. The analyst will be expected to define and scope the level of analysis necessary to meet the customer needs. Customers are both internal personnel and programs and also external Government personnel and programs. The analyst will be expected to plan their own work and estimate the schedule and budget required to complete the tasks satisfactorily. The analyst is also expected to provide guidance to the customer by defining the level of thermal analysis support required to meet the program/project needs. This interaction with the customer will also help define testing required to validate thermal analyses and verify that hardware is compliant with requirements. In addition, the thermal analyst will be expected to plan tests, support testing, perform data reduction and engage in thermal model correlation.

The ideal candidate will possess
Required Skills:
Industry experience in thermodynamics and heat transfer analysis and design. Thermal test experience. Proficiency with PC, engineering workstations running UNIX. Expertise with PATRAN, CINDA/SINDA, ANSYS or equivalent software. Expertise with aerodynamic heating, electronics cooling, thermal modeling, and thermal testing.
Desired Skills:
Extensive use of personal computers and workstations, ability to travel, interact with customers and co-workers, ability to work extended hours on occasion. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are strongly desired.
