Job Description


Responsibilities: Initially this position will be responsible for the analysis and characterization of composites and other advanced materials using various analytical techniques. The task will require operation of analytical equipment, interpretation of results, problem solving, technical report writing and interfacing with the various product lines. Candidate will become responsible for the front-end missile materials development, coordination and implemetation and function as the liason between developing programs and the laboratories. Successful candidates work will be reviewed in terms of meeting the organizations goals and schedules. Employee will be responsible for all tasks assigned and will act as an advisor to co-workers, supervision and staff. This individual will exert considerable influence in the development of overall objectives and goals with respect to composites and advanced materials. This position will require frequent contact with the Customer, management, programs and engineering. In this capacity, will be called upon to conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.

The ideal candidate will possess


Required Skills:
Expertise in Scanning Electron microscope and related surface techniques, ceramics, semiconductors, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, metallography , operation of hand and machine tools. Candidate should also be familiar with most methods of analytical instrumentation and chromatography.


Desired Skills:
Familiarity with composite materials and nano-technology desired but not required
