Responsibilities: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) aspires to be the world's premier supplier of integrated air and missile defense and naval and maritime warfighting systems. IDS embraces a system-of-systems approach, which includes designing systems with flexible architectures enabling our customers to optimize battlefield effectiveness. This charter includes conceptual definition, designing, developing, building and deploying defense systems. The Systems Architecture, Design and Integration Center (SADIC) is the central focal point of these activities within IDS. Our customers' satisfaction and confidence in our Systems Engineering capabilities has led to major contract wins this year, including sole-source contracts. SADIC supports numerous programs, encompassing a range of state-of-the-art technologies and processes, including Patriot System Modernization, DD(X) Navy Surface Combatant Ship, Ballistic Missile Defense System, various Radar programs, and Independent Research and Development. Add something for proposals (i.e. referring to expected large program wins as well as mentioning on-going proposal support opportunities) On each of these programs there are opportunities varying in scope of responsibility in the areas of Systems Architecture and Design, Radar Analysis and Technology, Radar Design and Integration, Sensor and Control Systems, Combat Systems & Platform Integration, and Systems Support Engineering. The successful candidate will perform RF communications systems engineering for air defense systems, including COTS and MOTS component integration, system requirements definition, system integration, test (plan & procedure generation, conduct, results analysis), hardware tradeoffs, equipment/system interface definition, concept generation, customer interaction, and interoperability evaluation.

The ideal candidate will possess
Required Skills:
A minimum of 10 years of Systems Engineering experience in the RF Communications field. Familiarity with U.S. Military & Government radio communications equipment operating in the HF through microwave bands including but not limited to such equipment as SINCGARS, MSE, DAMA Satcom, EPLRS, TADIL-J, NTDR, etc. Familiarity with U.S. Military and commercial packet switches, networking, routers considered a plus. The ability to develop system and subsystem performance and test requirements, and to evaluate interfaces between various subsystems. The skills to integrate commercial (COTS) or government supplied equipment into a system or subsystems, and to test and evaluate that system or subsystem with respect to test documentation. The ability to interact directly with customers. Strong technical writing & oral presentation skills
Desired Skills:
Excellent trouble shooting skills. Familiarity with U.S. Military, equipment including patch panels, cabling and military connectors, fiber optic equipment, and commercial radio communications equipment. Experience with US Government Cryptographic Gear. A Working knowledge of RF and data communications test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Communications Test Sets, etc. The ability to develop system test requirements, read and interpret interface control documents, and to evaluate interfaces between various subsystems. Working knowledge of data communications protocols including RS-422, RS-232, X.25, RS-449, and others. The skills to integrate commercial (COTS) or government supplied equipment into a system or subsystems, and to test, and evaluate that system or subsystem with respect to test documentation. The ability to interact directly with customers.
