Responsibilities: Hypersonic Aerodynamics Engineering Fellow: The Engineering Fellow exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. The Engineering Fellow applies and/or develops highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. In particular, The Engineering Fellow is viewed within the company as expert within field. In this case, the field of Aerodynamics with expertise in the Hypersonic flight regime. The Hypersonic Aerodynamics Engineering Fellow will develop information that extends knowledge in the field aerodynamics, with emphasis on hypersonics. This information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products. The Engineering Fellow acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective. The Hypersonic Aerodynamics Engineering Fellow will support design, research and development efforts for highly advanced airframe applications resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would have a long-term negative effect on the organization's reputation and business posture. The Engineering Fellow serves as consultant to the top corporate and business segment management in long-range company planning, concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements. The Engineering Fellow is the prime spokesperson on the company’s technical capabilities and future directions. Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business.

The ideal candidate will possess
Required Skills:
Conceptual design of hypersonic airframes and generation of flight performance requirements with a view towards potential development. To support proposal teams as part of new business activities as the GNC expert on hypersonic activities. Utilize multi-disciplinary optimization techniques to design hypersonic missile platforms. Support new technology as part of the corporate initiatives on advanced hypersonic airframes.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with core tools utilized in hypersonic design and research such as Newtonian flow theory, Tangent-wedge method, conical flow methodology, and the Prandtl-Meyer expansion theory. Individuals who apply for the Hypersonic Aerodynamics Engineering Fellow position should be one of the recognized leaders in the field of Hypersonics with supporting publications in scientific journals.
